December 03 Katie Price and Jamie ‘Afro’ Archer?
On a night out at top London club Mahiki, it has been reported in The Sun that the glamour model and I’m A Celebrity contestant made a beeline for ex-X Factor contestant Jamie Archer, where they drank together and ‘flirted’. The rumours come less than two weeks after Katie publicly dumped her cage-fighter boyfriend Alex Reid, after she quit the I’m A Celeb jungle. It’s also slightly shocking to see rocker Jamie knocking back the booze with another woman, after he had allegedly been seeing Coco Lloyd from X Factor girl group, Kandy Rain. Maybe they’re just friends, or maybe it’s something more? Stay tuned folks. Tiger Woods admits “transgressions”Golfer Tiger Woods has confessed to “personal sins” and publicly apologised to his wife after three women came forwarding claiming to have slept with the father of two. “I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart,” Tiger wrote on his website. “I have not been true to my values and the behaviour my family deserves. I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. “Personal sins should not require press releases and problems within a family shouldn't have to mean public confessions,” he continued. “I will strive to be a better person and the husband and father that my family deserves. For all of those who have supported me over the years, I offer my profound apology.” The series of events that led to Tiger’s admission began when his car hit a tree outside the couple’s Florida home on November 30. Suspicions arose when the world number one refused to talk to police about the accident, cancelling three planned meetings. Reports speculated that the golfer’s facial injuries weren’t sustained by the crash, but by a fight with wife Elin Nordegren, who had become enraged when it was reported Tiger was having an affair. Since then, several women have gone public with accounts of affairs with the world number one. December 02 John and Edward get a makeoverIt seems that John and Edward (more commonly referred to as Jedward) have grown up! Thanks to Grazia magazine, the 18-year-old ex-X Factor contestants have been treated to a makeover. Gone are the huge quiffs and suit/hi-top trainer combinations that we usually see them with. Instead, they have a sleek new image, complete with side partings, tailored suits and sunglasses. In the space of weeks, Jedward have morphed from unknown, slightly off-key wannabes to international pop icons with fans ranging from David Cameron, Kelly Osbourne, Pixie Lott and Henry Holland, to Will Young and Agyness Deyn. The boys are preparing their next move with speculation they’ll do everything from appearing in the next 118 advert to becoming the new Ant and Dec. They’re certainly in demand – last week, they had to charter a private helicopter to enable them to make all their public appearances around the UK. "We love fashion," says Edward. "We don’t really wear specific designers as we can’t afford them. But when we were on the show it was more about us having a slick solid image that had impact rather than a label. We hardly ever wore T-shirts – only shirts with ties." The boys are styled by Britain’s most influential male stylists Mark Anthony, Frank Strachan and Tom Stubbs in this week's issue, on sale now.

The Scottish singer who has fans everywhere from the UK to America has sold 410,000 copies of I Dreamed A Dream, her debut effort, in the first week. Not only that, but she beat the likes of Queen, Black Eyed Peas and JLS to the top of the charts. The 48-year-old singing sensation’s first single is a cover of Rolling Stone’s hit Wild Horses, and reached number 9 in the charts last week. Simon Cowell, the man responsible for her discovery, has said of her success: "I'm incredibly proud of Susan as well as being delighted for her. The success could not not have happened to a lovelier person. She did it her way and made a dream come true.” Well done SuBo! November 30 Robbie Williams: did he really propose?Robbie Williams has managed to cause a bit of confusion by apparently asking his girlfriend to marry him on an Australian radio show. The singer, who has been a bit of a bachelor throughout his career, was on Sydney 2Day FM on the Kyle and Jackie O Show last week with Ayda Field (the girlfriend in question) when he reportedly popped the question. He said: "Will you marry me? I love you so much, would you mind being my betrothed until the end of time?" and she replied: "I would love to be your betrothed until the end of time." However, before you get too excited at the idea of an A-list celebrity wedding, the proposal has been written off by Robbie’s spokesman. He claimed it was just a joke. Despite this, Robbie’s mum Jan is adamant it was a genuine engagement. In a radio interview, she said: "He wanted to do something different. She's a lovely girl and I'm really pleased for them. I've got a daughter-in-law." November 25 Katie Price’s bad luck continuesIt’s fair to say Katie Price isn’t having a good week. She endured bushtucker trial after bushtucker trial in I’m A Celebrity, despite begging the public to give her a break, until it finally got too much and she quit. During her time in the jungle, Katie endured being showered with 60,000 cockroaches, she burrowed through a tunnel filled with bugs, and attempted to eat a kangaroo anus and testicles, among other horrors. Faced with her seventh consecutive bushtucker trial, Katie gave up and left the jungle for the luxury of the nearby Versace Hotel. But there were more dramas to come – in her live TV interview with Ant and Dec the following day, Katie announced she was no longer dating Alex Reid. “I've done a lot of reflecting,” she said. “I think it's best I'm on my own, I just don't want to be in a relationship. I hope we can remain friends.” Katie admitted that memories from her first jungle visit in 2004, when she first met Peter Andre, may have contributed to her decision. "The whole place reminded me of Pete from the moment I woke up, the afternoon to the moment I went to sleep, every second it was Pete, Pete, Pete.” And now a report in The Mirror states that Katie's £30 million business empire isn’t growing at the expected rate. According to the newspaper, the model’s new children’s book range is selling poorly, with one book, Mermaids and Pirates: All Around, only selling 19 copies! The figures, from Neilsen Bookscan ratings, also reveal that the latest series of Perfect Ponies books has sold under 1,000 copies, compared with 26,000 for the series debut in 2007. Katie’s bed linen range is no longer being stocked in some stores, and her lingerie range for Asda is reportedly "under review”. Ali Bastian gets festive with dance partnerThe Bill actress Ali Bastian still hasn’t confirmed she is dating her Strictly Come Dancing partner Brian Fortuna, but the two are spending an awful lot of time together, both on and off the dancefloor. Despite spending all week together practicing their moves, the cute couple found time to step out together at the Magic Bing Dome in Covent Garden, to celebrate the launch of Bing, the new search engine from Microsoft. They got into the festive spirit, scoffing mince pies and searching for the best gift deals online and ideas for what to cook this Christmas. Ali is one of the favourites to waltz off with the Strictly Come Dancing crown (along with Ricky Whittle) so it’s unlikely this dancing duo will be separated any time soon. November 10 Katie Price back on I’m A Celebrity?
Katie Price is rumoured to be making a return to the TV show where she met Peter Andre. The Mirror reports that the glamour model has been offered almost half a million pounds to return to the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here jungle. When Katie first appeared on the show in 2004, she met and fell in love with Peter Andre. The pair went on to get married and have two children together, but have recently divorced. It has been said that Katie is trying to win back credibility from the public, after the messy ordeal with Andre. However, if Katie is in the jungle this time, she won’t be looking for love due to her relationship with cross-dressing cage-fighter, Alex Reid. The popular ITV show sees celebrities compete against each other in the Australian jungle, and includes bushtucker trials such as eating insects and kangaroo testicles. The mum-of-two was up against the likes of Katie Price, Holly Willoughby and Samantha Cameron, but she beat them all to the prestigious title. On receiving her award, she said: "It is a real honour to get this award. It is nice to know I have got a lot of support out there – it has been a really difficult year. I have been a single parent in the past and I have had struggles, so hopefully people still think I have done the best by my children.” Kym tragically lost her baby boy Archie (who was fathered by Hollyoaks actor, Jamie Lomas) earlier this year, when he was born 18 weeks early. She already has two children from a previous relationship; David, 14 and Emily, 11. The 33-year-old also used today to announce her reconciliation with her ex-boyfriend, Jamie Lomas. November 02 Coleen and Wayne have baby boyColeen Rooney has given birth to a baby boy, nine days later than expected. It has been reported by The Sun that Coleen went into labour earlier today, and gave birth to a boy at 2:20pm. A spokesman for the couple has said: "Mother and baby are both absolutely fine. Wayne and Coleen are thrilled with the wonderful addition to their family life." The new parents have named their new addition Kai Wayne Rooney, Kai meaning ‘ocean’ in Hawaiian. The young couple, who have been together since they were just 14 years old, married last year in a spectacular Italian wedding ceremony. The birth of their first child comes just over a year since they exchanged wedding vows.

October 26 Jude Law’s baby finally revealed Samantha Burke, the ex-lover of Jude Law, has finally revealed their new daughter to the world, despite Law never having met her. Samantha Burke, an American model/actress, hit the headlines earlier this year when she announced she was pregnant with the illegitimate baby of Jude Law, after a brief relationship. He has now been proven via DNA testing that he is definitely the father of baby Sophia. Featured in the latest issue of Hello magazine, Burke shows off their new daughter, and admits that there have been no plans made (as yet) for Law to meet her. "There are no plans for it to happen at the moment, but I know he's busy,” she has said. In the exclusive interview and photo shoot, Burke also reveals how emotional the birth was, and that she would definitely like Law to be involved in Sophia’s life; "I think of my relationship with my father, and I think it's just as important as your relationship with your mother. I'm very hopeful that it'll work out, for Sophia's sake." Burke has also hit back at claims that she is a gold-digger, saying; "It really hurt. People who know me will testify that I have never dated a guy for money." So, should he make the effort to meet his new daughter, or is it best for the actor to stay out of her life altogether? October 22 Katie Price’s unusual book launchKatie Price has hit the headlines again, by dressing her boyfriend up to look like her for the launch of her new book, Standing Out. The glamour girl persuaded her cage-fighter boyfriend, Alex Reid, and three other male friends to dress up like her in one of the most unusual photo shoots that has ever taken place. The other (very obliging) men to take part in the stunt were her trainer Andrew Gould, her brother Danny and her friend Phil Turner. The mum-of-three dressed up too, in a Marylin Monroe style wig. As shocking as this stunt might seem, it seems that Reid’s love of cross-dressing might be the catalyst for it. It was recently revealed that the 34-year-old is a fan of dressing up in women’s clothing. When asked about the whole event, Price said: "This is all tongue-in-cheek, we're all having a laugh and we really enjoyed it.” Price has recently gained a lot of media attention due to her comments earlier this week about her ex-husband Peter Andre’s alleged affair with their manager, Claire Powell. Recent claims made by Katie Price, that her ex-manager was having an affair with ex-husband Peter Andre during their marriage, have been vehemently denied by the other parties. The glamour model appeared on The Graham Norton Show, and made some comments about ex-manager Claire Powell (pictured) and Andre that were slightly unsavoury. BBC bosses were forced to censor a lot of what was said, but Price has still managed to ruffle some feathers. She claimed that her ex-husband had cheated on her with Powell and that their alleged ‘affair’ was part of the reason for the breakdown of her marriage. It has been reported on Heatworld that Powell has fought back and threatened legal action: "This is a total lie. I'm seeing my lawyers now. No one can take what she says seriously. She has to find someone to blame for the marriage break-up. I am not that person." Andre has also released an official statement, ending with a word of warning to his ex: “I have said once before that if anybody slanders my name I will not hesitate in taking legal action and that is exactly what both Claire and I will do." A recent survey, in association with the new Freixenet Cava Week campaign, has revealed a lot about how us Brits are feeling about the recession. Over 2,000 British adults were asked which celebrity would be the most fun to spend time with. Dawn French topped the female poll with an astounding 40% of the votes, and Stephen Fry, our favourite Tweeter, received 20% of the male celebrity vote. Clearly in times as hard as these, people would rather be around someone funny and ‘larger-than-life’ than someone like Sienna Miller, who only received 1% of the vote for female celebs. X Factor darling Cheryl Cole came second after French with 11% of the vote, and it turns out that charming chat show host Paul O’Grady is also popular, receiving 14%. Camilla Dallerup, the current Strictly Come Dancing champion, is the face of the campaign, and is hoping to inject a bit more fun and glamour into the lives of us beaten-down Brits with the launch of the new Cava ‘Elyssia’. Other results showed that a sizable 23% of people would rather have a glass of fizz in their bed than any other kind of food or drink, such as a cup of tea, which only got 6%of the votes. Sounds alright to us! Sugababes Amelle in private clinicSugababes singer Amelle Berrabah is being treated for nervous exhaustion in a private clinic.
A statement on the group’s website said: "It seems that with all the recent events in the band right up to Jade joining us a few weeks ago, the stress over a period of months has unfortunately taken its toll on Amelle and she is now suffering from a severe bout of nervous exhaustion. For the next three weeks, Amelle will be staying at a private health clinic in Europe where she will be able to rest and recuperate under expert supervision." Heidi Range and new member Jade Ewen both added their own messages to the above statement: "Both Amelle and I have been through a very traumatic time together in recent months and particularly over the past few weeks." Jade added: "We're glad that Amelle is getting the right support now to help her return to work." Amelle’s illness means two performances have been cancelled – one in Leeds and one on German television. The new Sugababes line-up had also been due to perform at the Scottish Royal Variety Performance last week, but pulled out due to "a number of legal issues to be finalised". Leona’s attacker ‘X Factor reject’The man who punched Leona Lewis in the face at a London book signing on October 14 had previously auctioned for X Factor, it has been revealed.
His father told The Sun the 29-year-old was jealous of Leona’s fame, after trying out for X Factor but failing to get past the first round. “He wants to be a singer. He went along and queued at X Factor. How far he got with it? Nowhere.” Tomasz Kowalczyk was quoted as saying. Following the incident, Leona released a statement to fans, saying the attack had left her shaken and in pain. “Thank you so much for your support. It was a horrible shock and left me extremely hurt and upset. I’m sorry to those I wasn’t able to meet at the signing. Love you all.” Kowalczyk will appear at City of Westminster Magistrates' Court on October 26. October 14 Cheryl to mime on X Factor: reportsCheryl Cole will perform her debut solo single on X Factor this weekend, but, according to reports, the Girls Aloud star won't be singing live.
This comes after Alexandra Burke was accused of lip-synching during her performance of Bad Boys on last week’s X Factor results show, while, just minutes, later, Robbie Williams clearly sang 100% live. In my opinion, Alexandra seemed to be singing live (in some parts, at least) but over the top of a pre-recorded backing track. If Alexandra did mime, I’m sure it wasn’t her idea – the whole marketing campaign for Bad Boys is based around the dancing and the spectacle, more than the song itself. I have no doubt that when the time comes to promote Alexandra’s next single, thought to be the ballad Overcome, she will belt it out on telly without any need for a backing track. As for Cheryl, her vocals aren’t as strong as protégé Alexandra’s, so I’m not surprised she’s decided to take the safe option and pre-record her performance. October 12 Stephen Gately dies in MajorcaStephen Gately, member of the recently reformed Irish boyband Boyzone, died this weekend while holidaying in Majorca. The 33-year-old singer and actor was found dead on Saturday afternoon in his home in the holiday destination. Police investigating the sudden death of the Irish star have said there are “no signs of suspicious circumstances.” It has been claimed in The Sun that he spent up to 8 hours on a drinking binge while spending time away from the UK with his partner, Andrew Cowles. So far, it has been reported that he slept on the sofa in their home in Port d’Andratx after the couple met a 25-year-old Bulgarian man, who allegedly came back with them. When Cowles got up the following afternoon, he found his partner dead. The rumours so far are that he choked on his own vomit in his sleep. His band mates and close friends, Ronan Keating, Shane Lynch, Mikey Graham and Keith Duffy, flew out to Majorca as soon as they heard the sad news on Sunday. Boyzone manager Louis Walsh failed to appear on Sunday night’s X Factor, and he was said to be "very shocked and exceptionally upset". |
